Sample Storage Systems

CAP AccreditedGentris offers storage of DNA, RNA, whole blood, FFPE tissue blocks, plasma, serum, saliva, liver cells, and buccal cells. The sample storage facility is supported by multiple backup systems and an inventory tracking system. Each freezer is independently monitored 24/7 by our 21 CFR 11 Compliant Elpro Monitoring system. All freezers have redundant and Sample Storage Systemsemergency backup systems. The storage facility is scalable and additional freezer capacity can be brought on-line as necessary.

Samples arriving at our GLP-compliant, biorepository facility are carefully removed from their shipping containers and visually inspected to verify their integrity. Accessioning technicians then label samples with a unique Gentris barcode and enter the sample information into a state-of-the-art laboratory information management system (LIMS). Gentris uses an integrated 21 CFR 11 compliant LIMS system to ensure chain of custody from the moment samples are received. All of our processes are in accordance with GLP regulations and meet the audit trail requirements. After samples have been entered into the LIMS system, they typically move to the nucleic acid extraction and purification lab to isolate DNA and RNA for immediate testing or long-term storage.
